What AI assistants say about you, measured and sealed

AVA is an AI visibility audit that keeps its record in a jurisdiction you choose: it measures what AI assistants say about your organisation, checks it against what your site actually publishes, and can seal the result, signed and time-stamped by an outside authority, so a third party can check it without trusting us or you. Sealing is available on request.

By John Stroh, director of My Digital Sovereignty Ltd β€” Amberley, New Zealand.

Key Takeaways:

What it measures

People increasingly ask an AI assistant rather than a search engine. When somebody asks what your organisation does, whether you serve their region, or who they should use for the thing you sell, a model answers β€” from whatever it has absorbed, which may be outdated, partial, or about a competitor. AVA measures that, and records each measurement as evidence you can put in front of a board or a regulator.

It is not a ranking tool and does not promise to change what a model says β€” nobody controls that. It tells you what is being said, and what on your own site supports or contradicts it.

Sealed, signed, timestamped, sovereign

We call the mechanism SSST. A record is sealed, so its contents are fixed to a hash. It is signed, so the seal can be traced to whoever made it, and altering it after the fact invalidates the signature. It is timestamped by an outside authority, which attests the moment it existed, so that attestation does not come from us. And it is sovereign, because all of that happens on infrastructure in a jurisdiction you chose. Take any one away and the record stops proving what it claims. The time-stamp follows the Time-Stamp Protocol of the Internet Engineering Task Force, RFC 3161.

The standard timestamp is included; a legally-qualified (eIDAS) timestamp is available on request as an opt-in add-on. See Questions for what a sealed record proves.

Who built it

Built by My Digital Sovereignty Ltd (MDSL), Aotearoa New Zealand. Director: John Stroh, Amberley, New Zealand. The same company builds Village, a members-only community platform, and publishes the Tractatus Framework, the research on AI governance behind both products.
